Klang  formerly known as Kelang is a Royal City, the largest city of Selangor, a private secondary school town and a district in the State of Selangor Darul Ehsan, Malaysia. This city was once the capital of Selangor before the existence of Kuala Lumpur and Shah Alam. It is located about 32 km west of Kuala Lumpur and is the third largest city in Selangor.he history of Klang has emerged earlier than Melaka. This country is part of the colonies of the Sri Vijaya and Majapahit Kingdoms. The origin of the name Klang is from the Mon-Khymer language which is "Klong". Klong can be interpreted as a warehouse as presented by C.O. Blagden which states Klang to be the most important Port with many warehouses. While the opinion of Charles A. Fishr who stated "Klang" means "canal" or waterway. This opinion is agreed where Klang has many waterways that the tributaries are Sg. Klang, Sg. Bertek, Sg. Pinang, Sg. Sementa, Sg. Agas, Sg. Kandis, Sg. Binjai, Sg. Kapar, Sg. Jati, Sg. Aur, Sg. Rasau and Sg. Break up. The name of this river continues to this day.

1. Masjid India Muslim (Indian Muslim Mosque) 

                                              

           Masjid India Muslim is located at Jalan Tengku Kelana Klang is  a Qariah Mosque located in the district of Klang, Selangor, Malaysia. It became a center of worship for the local community.The original building of this mosque was built in 1910 for religious and community activities of Muslim Indians living in Klang.The original building of the mosque was demolished and rebuilt several times in 1974 and 2007. The reconstruction reflects Islamic architecture and design inspired by the glory of Islam in Andalusian times.One of the landmarks of Klang's Little India, it is bordered by Jalan Tengku Kelana and Jalan Dato Hamzah. Also called simply as Masjid India Klang, this Indian Muslim mosque has a bowl-shaped dome topping its prayer hall, flanked by a pair of minarets. The prayer hall is three storeys tall, with a grand staircase leading up to the first floor, where the main prayer hall is located.Muslim tourist can visit this mosque to take picture and also feel the experience of prayer of this mosque.For non-Musim tourist can take picture of this mosque picture of theirselves againts the backdrop of this mosque.

   2. Sultan Abdul Aziz Royal Gallery

  Sultan Abdul Aziz Royal Gallery was the brainchild of the Eleventh Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia,the late Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah.Initially it was called 'Muzium Kenangan' (Memorial Museum) and was built in 1988 at Jalan Kota,Kampung Jawa in Klang.After H.R.H Sultan Sharafudin Idris Shah ascended the throne in 2001,he instructed that Sultan Suleiman building which was built in 1909, be turned into the new Royal Gallery.On the 17th October 2007,H.R.H. The Sultan had graciously officiated The Royal Gallery and was open to the public 2 weeks later.The gallery is about the former Selangor Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah and this is the spark of Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah idea.

The Royal Sultan Abdul Aziz Gallery is located next to the Klang Court and just a few minutes walk from the Klang Commuter Station. The gallery is more accessible on foot due to its location on the side of the road and it is quite difficult to get parking. The gallery is open to the public starting at 10.00 am and closes at 5.00 pm and closes on Monday. Admission is free.

3. Thian Hock Keong Snake Temple

About 60 sculptures of giant snakes either coiling around pillars or just staring down from the roofs with fangs bared are on display at the Thean Hock Keong Chinese temple, where adventure-seeking tourists and shutterbugs soak in the sights.More than a tourist attraction, the snake temple in Jalan Tepi Sungai, Klang, is an important place of worship for the local Hokkien people and foreigners who come from as far as Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan and Australia.

Devotees who visit the temple, which is painted yellow and red, attest to the deity’s power in healing ailments and granting wishes. The temple becomes an impressive site during Chinese New Year when lanterns, candles and joss sticks provide a re-verent atmosphere that forces visitors into a whisper.There are also  a few real snakes inside the temple but thankfully they are safely caged.

4. GM Klang

GM Klang is the famous wholesale shopping mall among the tourists between outbound and domestic tourists.GM Klang brands itself as the most comprehensive one-stop wholesale city in South East Asia. It is a massive wholesale shopping mall and business centre located in Bandar Botanic district of Klang town. It currently has space for about 2,500 shops, although not fully occupied at present.

GM Klang Wholesale City offers a wide array of products which includes home and wedding decorations, fashion apparels, textiles, IT accessories, toys, packed food and much more.'GM Klang also has a variety of food shops at the ground floor of the building including Thai food, desserts, waffles and others.

In GM Klang there is also a 3D Studio or better known as '3DX' 3D Experience. This 3D studio is located on the sixth floor of block b in this building.This studio has four units of premises that have been converted into 3D concept photography space.In addition to shopping, visitors can record their memories by taking pictures in this studio with a 3D concept.

5. Sultan Sulaiman Mosque

Sultan Sulaiman Mosque is Selangor's royal mosque, which is located in Klang, Selangor, Malaysia. It was constructed by the British in the early 1932 and was officially opened in 1934 by the late Almarhum Sultan Sir Alaeddin Sulaiman Shah and the British's Federated Malay States High Commissioner, Sir Lawrence Nuuns Guillemard.

The mosque's architecture is a combination of Western Art Deco and Neoclassical cathedral styles. It was designed by the British architect Leofric Kesteven (1882-1974). Its interesting features include the Tangga Diraja (royal stairs) from Istana Alam Shah and a royal mausoleum. The late Sultan Salahuddin was buried in the mosque's grounds.

This mosque was a Selangor state mosque before the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque in Shah Alam was built.Apart from that, the mosque is also a gift from the British government to the fifth Sultan of Selangor, the late Sultan Alauddin Sulaiman Shah.The official opening of the mosque was completed by Sultan Alauddin Sulaiman Shah on 11 September 1932.

2 years ago,this mosque is undergoing an improvement process, namely cleaning the surface of the mural, treatment of strengthening the mural and painting some parts of the mosque, including in the main prayer room.

6.Kota Bridge

Intended to ease traffic flow, the double-decker Kota Bridge was first opened in 1957 with the upper tier for automobiles and the lower tier for cyclists and pedestrians.

Despite the construction of bigger bridges and the closure of the upper tier, the lower tier of Kota Bridge is still open to use for motorcyclists. Take a stroll along the bridge for a vantage view of the Royal Klang Mosque. After that, take the stairs to the upper deck to get to the Klang Minicipal Council Hall, where an ancient fort which is Kota Raja Mahadi, built by Raja Mahadi in 1866 and still remains untill now.

After exploring the island you could take Persiaran Pulau Lumut that leads to the interchange to South Klang Valley Highway (SKVE) for an exhilarating and panoramic drive and cross over to Carey Island using Bridge 19 and exiting on the mainland between Telok Panglima Garang and Jenjarom.
